Terms of use
Last updated 4 October 2026
These terms apply to your use of Local Service Calculator. Using the site means accepting them.
Using the site
You may use this site for your own personal or business purposes, including to inform decisions about work on a property. You may quote figures from it with attribution and a link to the page they came from.
You may not:
- Scrape, copy or republish substantial parts of the site, including the cost data, as a competing resource.
- Make automated requests at a rate that burdens the service.
- Misrepresent the figures as quotes, as your own work, or as endorsed by anybody.
- Attempt to gain access to the administrative area or to any account that is not yours.
The estimates
The disclaimer forms part of these terms. In short: estimates are modeled figures, not quotes, and are provided without warranty.
Contractor listings
Listings are supplied by third parties and governed by the contractor listing terms. We are not a party to any agreement you reach with a contractor, and we take no part in the work, the payment or any dispute arising from it.
Intellectual property
The written content, page design and the cost model are ours. The underlying data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Bureau of Economic Analysis, HUD and the Census Bureau is published by those agencies and is generally in the public domain; our arrangement and presentation of it is not.
Availability
We do not guarantee the site will be available or uninterrupted. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, including individual calculators, without notice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from reliance on the figures. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Governing law
This site is operated for users in the United States. A specific governing state has not yet been designated for these terms. Until one is, nothing here should be read as a choice of law or as a submission to the courts of any particular state, and any dispute will be determined by the rules that would apply in the absence of such a choice.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top reflects the last material change, and continuing to use the site after one means accepting it.
